We are working with a Housing Association who are seeking a Communal Services Cleaner to support the delivery of high-quality cleaning services across their residential estates.
This is a practical, front-line role focused on maintaining clean, safe, and well-presented communal areas for residents. The successful candidate will work across multiple sites, ensuring cleaning standards are consistently met in line with agreed specifications and health & safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Clean communal entrances, stairwells, corridors, bin stores, and other identified areas
• Carry out sweeping, vacuuming, washing of floors, walls, doors, and fixtures
• Clean internal windows, carry out litter picking, graffiti removal, and carpet cleaning
• Use hazard signage and follow health & safety procedures at all times
• Complete digital records of work completed using mobile devices
• Organise workload efficiently to maximise productivity
• Ensure materials and equipment are available, used correctly, and stored safely
• Maintain accurate records relating to materials, fuel usage, and time spent on works
• Ensure cleaning equipment and vehicles (where applicable) are kept safe, secure, and serviceable

Requirements

• Previous experience in a communal cleaning or similar role, ideally within social housing
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and mechanical devices
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Ability to use a mobile phone or tablet for basic reporting and e-learning
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards
