Contentious Probate Solicitor

Service Care Solutions is working with a highly regarded Legal 500 firm, based in Reading, which is looking to appoint a Contentious Probate Solicitor into its well-established and growing Will Disputes & Contentious Probate team. This is a genuinely rare opportunity in the market as the role offers exclusively contentious probate litigation work.
 
Role: Contentious Probate Solicitor (3–5 PQE)
Location: Reading - hybrid
Salary: £55,000 – £75,000
 
The Role:
You will be managing your own caseload of a full spectrum of contentious probate work, including:

• Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act claims for both Claimants and Defendants.
• Challenges to the validity of Wills.
• Executor and administrator disputes, including removal applications.
• Estate administration disputes.
• Court of Protection disputes.
• A wide range of trust disputes.

Ongoing supervision and support will be provided by the Head of Will Disputes & Contentious Probate, who is recognised by Legal 500 as a Leading Individual for contentious probate in the Southeast.
 
Key Requirements:

• 3–5 years’ PQE in civil litigation, including contentious probate work as solicitor in England and Wales.
• Experience of contentious probate (and ideally some non-contentious private client exposure during training or early career).
• Confidence managing your own caseload and contributing to team-based litigation.
