Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00
Pay Rate: £12.91 per hour (PAYE, excluding holiday pay)

Role Overview Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Cook to join the NHS catering team in Newcastle. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in patient care by preparing nutritious meals in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to NHS dietary guidelines and patient requirements.
• Ensure all food is prepared safely and hygienically, following food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area.
• Assist with menu planning and stock control.
• Work collaboratively with catering assistants and other staff to ensure timely meal service.
• Comply with infection control and health & safety regulations.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef (preferably in healthcare or large-scale catering).
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
