We are working with a large housing provider to recruit a Gardener to support the upkeep and presentation of residential estates across North West London and Hertfordshire borders.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone who takes pride in maintaining green spaces and enjoys visible, rewarding work. You’ll be responsible for ensuring communal landscaped areas are well-maintained, safe, and welcoming all year round. A company vehicle is provided, and you’ll be based from a local hub.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled grounds maintenance across multiple estates
• Maintain lawns, hedges, borders, and planted areas
• Plant and maintain seasonal bedding and landscaped areas
• Weed, spray, leaf clear, and carry out seasonal horticultural tasks
• Operate and maintain powered and manual gardening equipment
• Apply and store chemicals safely in line with regulations
• Remove and dispose of green waste appropriately
• Assist with landscaping projects and estate improvements
• Respond to emergencies and report vandalism, defects, or hazards
• Adhere to health & safety requirements and wear PPE at all times

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Previous experience in gardening or grounds maintenance
• Ability to use powered and manual horticultural equipment
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Basic understanding of health & safety
• PA1 / PA6a certificates desirable but not essential
• Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS check
