Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Job Description:
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work in a primary school in Chorley. This is a fantastic opportunity for qualified HLTAs looking to take on greater responsibility in the classroom and make a real impact on pupils’ learning.

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. The role will involve:

• Delivering lessons pre-planned by the class teacher
  
  
• Leading intervention groups to raise attainment and support progress
  
  
• Providing small group and 1:1 support to pupils of varying abilities
  
  
• Assisting with classroom organisation, preparation, and behaviour management
  
  

Requirements:

• HLTA qualification is essential (applications without this will not be considered)
  
  
• Proven experience working within a primary school setting
  
  
• Confident in leading whole-class sessions in the teacher’s absence
  
  
• Strong literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
  
  
• A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach to working with children and staff
