Locum Phlebotomist

Locum Phlebotomist (GP Surgery) – East Grinstead (RH19) | Contract (2 weeks, up to 6 weeks)

Service Care Solutions is seeking an experienced Locum Phlebotomist to support a GP Surgery in East Grinstead (RH19) on a flexible locum basis. This assignment is expected to run for 2 weeks (with potential extension up to 6 weeks, subject to service needs).

You will work 2–3 AM clinic sessions per week (flexible days), approximately 8:00/9:00am – 12:00/1:00pm. The clinical system used is EMIS, with an additional requirement to be competent with NHS Smartcard.

Rate: £16.88 per hour (paid via Umbrella)

Candidate Responsibilities

• Undertake venepuncture and blood sample collection as a Locum Phlebotomist for patients of all ages
• Ensure accurate labelling, handling, and processing of specimens in line with laboratory requirements
• Maintain patient comfort, dignity, and professionalism throughout appointments as a Locum Phlebotomist
• Update patient records accurately using EMIS
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
• Work efficiently within a busy primary care environment, supporting consistent clinic delivery as a Locum Phlebotomist

Essential Requirements

• Previous phlebotomy experience within Primary Care, Community, or NHS settings
• Competent using EMIS and NHS Smartcard
• A reliable approach to patient care and attendance in this Locum Phlebotomist role
