Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive Primary School team in Blackburn. You will support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping to create an environment where every child can thrive and succeed.
As a key member of our school community, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to deliver tailored support, enabling pupils with SEND to reach their full potential.

Duties/roles:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
• Assist with the delivery of differentiated learning activities and individual education plans (IEPs).
• Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive learning environments.
• Work alongside teaching staff and external professionals to meet pupils’ individual needs.
• Assist in preparing learning resources and classroom organisation.

Person specification:

• Patient, empathetic, and approachable.
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible and proactive approach to supporting pupils and staff.

Essential requirements:

• Must have experience working with SEND pupils.
• Any level SEND Qualification is preferred.
• Enhanced DBS check.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Provide references of previous employment.
• Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable).
