Location: We are recruiting for our centres in 1x Hendon NW4 (Barnet) and 1x Sawbridgeworth CM21 (Hertfordshire).
About the RoleSavannah Lodge Ltd is offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Children’s Social Worker to join our Family Assessment Centre at Hazel House in Hendon.
We are looking for an ambitious professional who is committed to safeguarding children, supporting families, and ensuring that children and families are at the heart of all decision-making. Job PurposeTo work directly with children, families, partner agencies, and the wider community to improve outcomes for children and families. The role focuses on enabling families to remain together safely wherever possible, ensuring they receive the right level of intervention and support at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake direct work with children and families within a family assessment setting
  • Manage complex child protection and court-related cases
  • Coordinate and work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals
  • Manage, monitor, and chair children’s plans
  • Produce high-quality, accurate, and timely reports and case records
  • Make sound professional judgments to promote the welfare and safety of children
About YouThe successful applicant will have:
  • A recognised Social Work qualification and HCPC registration
  • A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Experience managing complex children and families court cases and/or child protection investigations
  • Strong knowledge of children’s social care legislation, theory, and statutory practice
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding principles and the impact of abuse, deprivation, and disadvantage
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and report-writing skills
  • The ability to build strong, professional relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
  • Emotional resilience and the ability to manage the demands of the role with appropriate support
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a values-led approach to practice
  • A satisfactory DBS check
  • The ability to safely transport children and families when required
  • Flexibility to meet operational needs, including responding to emergencies
