Social Worker Team Manager – Grade 12 (Social & Healthcare Qualified)
📍 The Portal, Ellesmere Port
🕒 37 hours per week (early 16:30 finish on Fridays)
💷 £43.00 per hour

Are you an experienced Social Work professional ready to take the next step into leadership? We’re seeking a dedicated Social Worker Team Manager to lead a dynamic team committed to improving outcomes for children and young people.
About the RoleThis is a pivotal leadership position where you will ensure that children and young people remain at the heart of all practice. You will champion a strengths-based, relational, and trauma-informed approach, aligned with Our Way of Working, while delivering a high-quality, responsive service for families.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong operational leadership to maintain a stable and effective service
  • Manage risk, ensuring statutory responsibilities and escalation processes are followed
  • Lead on recruitment, induction, supervision, and performance management
  • Foster a reflective, learning-focused, and trauma-informed team culture
  • Monitor service performance through data analysis and quality assurance activity
  • Use feedback and insight to drive continuous service improvement
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external agencies
  • Contribute to strategic development, service planning, and reporting
  • Manage resources in line with financial and regulatory frameworks
  • Support workforce and practice development alongside senior leadership teams
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of statutory frameworks and safeguarding practices
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
  • Commitment to trauma-informed and relationship-based practice
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
Additional Information
  • Hybrid working model
  • Flexibility required, including occasional out-of-hours work
  • Participation in emergency duty rotas
  • Regular travel as part of the role
