Like a lot of people over the lock down period I have used this extra time to develop and improve myself and try new things in order to make best use of the time and come out of lock down improved in some way or another; so this isolation period can be viewed as a positive experience as opposed to focusing on the negatives.

An area I have immersed myself more and more in over the last few months is self-development and improving my mindset in order to not only achieve more in life in terms of my personal and career goals but also to live life to its fullest potential. I have listened to various different audio books and started researching and looking more into the Law of Attraction which I have found fascinating and has opened my mind up to a whole new view of the Universe and the world we are living in today.

I have heard the phrase ‘like attracts like’ before and heard mentions of the Law of Attraction before but I never really thought much of it or understood it, and there is still so much more to learn and practice.

Many people actually have a deluded idea of what exactly the Law of Attraction is and it has been made to seem like a magical process where you can simply imagine what you want and it suddenly appears out of thin air, and although amazing things can happen as a result of the LOA, it doesn’t work quite that simply. This common misconception is the reason I thought I’d share a few basic principles of the theory which may inspire you to research it further and perhaps even start to integrate it into your own life.

  1. 'Everything is a Vibration' – Everything in this world from the tiniest grain of sand to the sun are in a constant state of vibration, our brain is just so clever that it translates these vibrations into the “reality” and physical objects we see and the sounds that we hear.
  2. 'Like Attracts Like' – This is the concept that vibrations of similar frequencies are drawn together. For example as two droplets of water move towards each other they eventually get close enough to attract each other and become one, this is because of their similar vibration. Whereas a droplet of oil and a droplet of water would not become one another. These are the two fundamental ideas that the Law of Attraction is based on, so if you think about it 1) Everything is a vibration 2) Vibrations of similar frequencies are drawn together then (as YOU have the ability to CONTROL YOUR OWN VIBRATION)…you can change the reality of your life by raising your frequency and changing your thoughts and what you focus on as whatever you give your energy and attention to comes back to you. Focus on the positive and more positive and good will come into your life – give it a try, what have you got to lose?
