Update – Foxton Centre Food Appeal

Case Studies
As you may have seen in my blog from February, The Foxton Centre approached SCS about providing some boxes of warm clothes to help with the quiet period they usually experience after the bumper donation month of December. At the same time the Centre also informed us that the cupboards for their Community Café were running low of stock and so the SCS CSR team swung in to action again.

Paul Bradley, CSR maestro here at SCS said “When speaking to the Foxton Centre volunteers mentioned they receive a lot of donations in the run up to Christmas but face a struggle in the following months to feed and provide for their service users. “Our team is passionate about giving something back and we were proud to be able to help the Foxton Centre, which has been working with vulnerable groups throughout Preston for almost 50 years.”

So we asked the whole company to literally put food on the table by adding items to their weekly shops, making special trips to the local supermarket or simply digging out some tins which they didn’t need. The aim was to fill one of our huge desks with food and together we managed to collect a huge amount of food for the Foxton Centre which will help replenish their stocks. We even got a mention in the local paper for the donations, if you would like to read this, please click here.

Jeff Marsh, from the Foxton centre, said: “The team at SCS has helped us enormously putting together these donations. “It is only through the generosity of people from our local community that we are able to carry on with our work with some of the most vulnerable people in the city.”

SCS are continuing to support our partner charities through the year so if you want to keep tabs on what we have been up to, keep an eye on our blog page.
