Here at Service Care Solutions we take the welfare of our staff very seriously and, with this in mind, we hold a 'Welfare and Values' (WAV) Review every two years to look at how our staff are feeling and assess what changes (if any) need to be made. According to Gallup, only 15% of people are engaged in their job and we want to make sure that statistic doesn't reflect within Service Care.

This year, as our team continues to grow, we felt it was important to get a specialist in to assist with the process so we enlisted Kate Wood, founder of Engage Your People to help.

Kate is incredibly passionate and determined that everyone should maximise their potential in performance-driven workplaces through the powerful blend of culture and technology. Harnessing what has worked for Kate in her role as Culture Director for Chess, where she drove the company from 63rd to 1st in the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies to Work for in the UK and retain their place in the list for 10 years.

Paul Bradley, Chair of our Welfare and Values Committee says, "The experience Kate and insight Kate has brought to enhance our process has been invaluable. She has been fantastic in providing a structure to ensure that we are able to achieve the objectives of the process. Her experience in providing this service and in providing an external point of view has been a great benefit."

The process looks at all areas of the business and includes every member of staff - from the admin assistants to the divisional leads.

As well as written suggestions and feedback, face to face meetings have taken place with our WAV committee and Kate to discuss certain predefined business areas.

Mandy Bibby, Executive Assistant, comments on the process, "It is a great feeling to know that my employers care enough to go through this process and invest time, money and thought into it;  lot of companies simply let one year run into the next without much thought for their staff."
