1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant – Long-Term Position
We are currently recruiting for a 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant to work in a long-term role within a school setting. This position involves supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs on a consistent, daily basis, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and socially.
This is a long-term opportunity within one school, providing stability and the chance to build a strong, supportive relationship with the pupil and staff team. It is well suited to someone who is patient, reliable, and committed to supporting children with additional needs.

Role responsibilities include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN throughout the school day
- Supporting the delivery of lessons and adapting tasks to meet the pupil’s individual needs
- Assisting with the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans
- Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs where applicable
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Helping to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH)
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A flexible and proactive attitude
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
