We’re working with a nurturing and inclusive school in Chorley looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil who requires additional emotional and behavioural support.

Role Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs, ensuring they can access learning in a safe and structured environment.
- Help the pupil regulate emotions, manage behaviour, and re-engage with classroom learning.
- Implement behaviour strategies and support plans under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher.
- Deliver tailored interventions to develop social and emotional skills.
- Encourage positive relationships, resilience, and self-esteem.
- Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
- Record and monitor progress, feeding back to staff and SENCO regularly.
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, or behavioural needs (essential).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A nurturing and consistent approach to behaviour management.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
