The ADHD Nurse Prescriber will assess, diagnose, and support individuals with ADHD, delivering both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. The role involves independent prescribing, medication management, and ongoing clinical reviews. Key Responsibilities
- Complete full ADHD assessments, provide clear diagnostic feedback, and produce high-quality clinical reports.
- Deliver follow-up reviews for individuals with an ADHD diagnosis, ensuring holistic, patient-centred care.
- Initiate, titrate, and discontinue stimulant and non-stimulant medications in line with clinical need.
- Manage a caseload throughout the medication pathway, ensuring timely and compliant follow-up.
- Generate and monitor prescriptions in accordance with safety protocols and clinical guidelines.
- Run medication management clinics, including physical health checks and ongoing monitoring.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals (e.g., psychologists, speech therapists) in cases involving differential diagnoses.
- Maintain effective communication with GP practices and external services, making appropriate referrals when needed.
- Assess risk at every patient contact, identify safeguarding concerns, and escalate appropriately.
- Engage in continuous professional development and stay informed on current ADHD research and best practice.
- Registered Mental Health Nurse with V300 Independent Prescribing qualification.
- Active NMC registration and full revalidation compliance.
- Demonstrable experience in ADHD assessment and treatment.
