Job Description: Nurse / Pharmacist – ADHD Specialist Independent Prescriber Rates
We are currently seeking experienced Nurse or Pharmacist Independent Prescribers to join our Adult ADHD Assessment and Titration Team. This role is offered on a self-employed basis, with fully remote and flexible working arrangements.
About the Role As an ADHD Specialist Independent Prescriber, you will play a central role in the medication management and ongoing care of adults diagnosed with ADHD. Working autonomously, you will be responsible for initiating treatment, managing titration, and optimising medication, while collaborating closely with Consultant Psychiatrists to ensure safe, effective, and personalised care.
This role is ideal for clinicians with strong ADHD titration experience who are confident working remotely and delivering high-quality care within a structured governance framework.

Essential Criteria Qualifications & Registration
- Assessment & Medication Initiation: £140.00 per assessment
- Titration Reviews: £30.00 per titration

Key Responsibilities
- Initiate, monitor, and adjust ADHD medication in line with NICE NG87 guidelines
- Manage ADHD medication titration, including dose optimisation and side-effect monitoring
- Conduct end-of-titration reviews and facilitate transfer to shared care where appropriate
- Communicate with patients via secure messaging, video consultations, and telephone reviews
- Use validated clinical tools to monitor treatment response and adverse effects
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive electronic clinical records
- Participate in risk assessments and safeguarding processes
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including Consultant Psychiatrists and clinical support staff
- Adhere to clinical governance, prescribing standards, and organisational policies

Essential Criteria Qualifications & Registration
- Registered Nurse or Pharmacist
- Independent and Supplementary Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (V300)
- Current registration with NMC or GPhC
- Minimum 6 months’ experience working within a specialist ADHD service (NHS or private)
- Desirable: Completion of ADHD-specific training (e.g. UKAAN, ADHD360, or NHS-approved public sector training)
- Enhanced DBS clearance (up to date)
- Strong clinical judgement with the ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on patient experience
- Confidence working in a fully remote digital environment
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong IT skills, including experience using SystmOne, Microsoft Teams, and AccuRx
- Access to a valid Smart Card (not expiring within the next 12 months) and Smart Card reader
- Access to a personal laptop (non-NHS / non-GP owned)
