Adult Social Care Legal Officer

Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting for an experienced Adult Social Care Legal Officer to join a well-known Local Authority based in Greater Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled legal professional to support a busy Adult Social Care team on a hybrid working basis.

You will provide high-quality legal advice and support across a range of adult social care matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and supporting the Council in safeguarding vulnerable adults.
 
Job Title: Adult Social Care Legal Officer
Location: Greater Manchester (Hybrid Working)
Pay Rate: £40–£45 per hour (Umbrella) – PAYE (Inc.Hol)  - £35.71 - £40.10
Working Pattern: Full-time, Hybrid (office attendance required as per service needs)
 
Key Responsibilities as an Adult Social Care Legal Officer:

• Manage a caseload of adult social care matters
• Provide legal advice to Adult Social Care officers, senior management, and elected members.
• Draft and prepare legal documentation, including applications, witness statements, and court bundles.
• Advise on statutory duties and powers under relevant legislation including: Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Human Rights Act 1998
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environment.

About you as an Adult Social Care legal officer:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX, or experienced Legal Officer with substantial Adult Social Care experience.
• Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload independently.
• Excellent drafting and communication skills.
• Previous experience working within a Local Authority legal team is highly desirable.
