Title: Advanced Children's Social Worker
Location: Various Locations around the county
Salary: £42 Umbrella per hour, £32.59 PAYE
Contract: Initially 12 weeks, possibility to be extended
Working Style: Hybrid. Duty days - office based. 1-2 Days 


Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for meaningful work in one of England’s most beautiful counties? We are recruiting on behalf of Devon County Council and we are looking for Advanced Children’s Social Workers to join Children & Families teams across Devon, offering the opportunity to work with complex cases, develop practice, and support colleagues within a collaborative environment.

The Role
As an Advanced Social Worker, you will play a key role within your team, working closely with the Team Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the service while maintaining a smaller, more focused caseload.
This is a hands-on role where you will work directly with children and families with complex needs, carrying out in-depth assessments and delivering high-quality interventions to achieve the best outcomes.
You will also:

• Provide professional leadership, supervision, and mentoring to colleagues and students
• Support the development of best practice across the team
• Deliver coaching, on-the-job training, and guidance to less experienced staff
• Promote a culture of reflection, learning, and continuous improvement

About You To succeed in this role, you will bring substantial post-qualifying experience and be able to demonstrate practice at an Experienced Social Worker level.
You will:

• Have experience working with children and families with complex needs
• Be confident operating within a multi-agency environment
• Have experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting the development of colleagues
• Show evidence of ongoing professional development and training
• Be able to challenge and improve social care practice constructively
