We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Allocation and Verification Team Manager to lead a busy housing allocations service on behalf of a local authority in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an established housing professional with strong leadership and service delivery skills to make a real impact in a high-performing team.
Role Overview:
You’ll be responsible for managing the Allocation and Verification service, ensuring the effective use of social housing stock in line with statutory provisions under Part VI of the Housing Act 1996. The role involves overseeing a team of officers, managing the medical assessment function, developing new housing initiatives, and ensuring fair, transparent, and efficient allocations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, motivate and manage the Allocations and Verification team to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service.
  • Oversee the delivery of the housing register, choice-based lettings, and verification processes.

  • Manage relationships with Registered Providers and other housing partners to ensure effective nomination and allocation practices.
  • Monitor and report on performance, budgets, and service improvements.
  • Take responsibility for medical assessments and exceptional housing need cases.
  • Contribute to wider housing initiatives and support continuous improvement across the service.
Requirements:
  • Proven management experience within housing allocations, lettings or housing needs.
