£300 per day Umbrella
37 hours per week

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an Asbestos Surveyor on behalf of a Local Authority in Hampshire

This is a specialist role sitting outside of the Council’s standard asbestos surveying team and will focus on supporting a range of special projects across the property portfolio.

The successful candidate will undertake asbestos surveys and inspections linked to refurbishment, demolition and planned works projects, ensuring that asbestos risks are identified, reported and managed appropriately.

This role would suit an experienced Asbestos Surveyor who is comfortable working independently and supporting complex or project-based workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Undertake asbestos management, refurbishment and demolition surveys
• Carry out inspections across a range of Council properties and special projects
• Identify asbestos-containing materials and assess associated risks
• Produce detailed survey reports, recommendations and associated documentation
• Support refurbishment, capital works and planned maintenance projects
• Liaise with project managers, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with asbestos regulations and health & safety requirements
• Maintain accurate records and update asbestos databases where required
• Provide technical advice relating to asbestos risks and remediation works
• Support ad-hoc project work as required

Requirements

• Previous experience working as an Asbestos Surveyor
• BOHS P402 qualification as a minimum
• Additional qualifications such as P403 / P404 would be advantageous
• Strong knowledge of asbestos legislation and HSE guidance
• Experience carrying out management, refurbishment and demolition surveys
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
• Experience producing asbestos reports and technical recommendations
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Previous experience working within local authority, housing or public sector environments would be beneficial
