Location: Nettleham HQ, Lincoln, LN2 2LT
Contract: 6 month contract with potential extension
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8.30am-4.30pm
Pay Rate: £14.72 PAYE per hour
Start Date: ASAP (Subject to police vetting)


About the Role:

Lincolnshire Police is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant HR Advisor to join their Human Resources team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support HR operations across the force, providing high-quality advice, case management, and administrative support to help deliver our People Strategy.

You will work closely with HR Advisors and the HR Business Partner, assisting with everything from case management, flexible working requests, and HR queries, to disciplinary and grievance processes. This role is fully office-based but will require occasional travel across the county.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support HR case management, including preparation for formal meetings, transfers, flexible working requests, and occupational health referrals.

  • Assist HR Advisors with limited duties and restricted/adjusted duty processes.

  • Provide first-line HR support to managers and staff, escalating complex issues when necessary.

  • Produce management information and reports for Senior Leadership Teams.

  • Support investigations, disciplinary, grievance, and attendance processes, including note-taking.

  • Maintain accurate HR records and systems.

  • Liaise with payroll to ensure accurate pay information.

  • Prepare formal HR correspondence and manage departmental email inboxes.


Essential skills and experience:

  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent HR generalist experience.

  • Experience providing HR advice and guidance to managers.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.

  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).

  • Ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Commitment to learning and developing HR knowledge.

  • Ability to travel within Lincolnshire.

  • Experience in discipline, grievance, capability, or attendance management.

  • Understanding of police service regulations and conditions of service.

  • Experience in collating, analysing, and evaluating information.
