We have a new opportunity for a Building Repairs Surveyor to join a Hampshire-based Council within their Housing Repairs team. Working alongside the Building Repairs Manager, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality maintenance and void services across the housing portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Surveyor looking to develop management experience with structured support and training through the Council’s ‘Systems Thinking’ approach.

We have a new opportunity for a Building Repairs Surveyor to join a Hampshire-based Council within their Housing Repairs team. Working alongside the Building Repairs Manager, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality maintenance and void services across the housing portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Surveyor looking to develop management experience with structured support and training through the Council’s ‘Systems Thinking’ approach.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver an efficient and customer-focused building repair and voids service in line with NEC3 term contracts.
- Undertake surveys, condition assessments, and diagnostics to identify and specify required works.
- Manage and issue repairs, ensuring quality, value for money, and contractor compliance.
- Supervise and deliver small to medium-scale projects, typically up to £15,000 in value (occasionally up to £50,000).
- Support the Building Repairs Manager in overseeing day-to-day repairs, including damp and mould cases under Awaab’s Law.
- Liaise with residents, leaseholders, and councillors to resolve complaints and disrepair claims.
- Maintain accurate asset data and support the development of planned maintenance programmes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the professional development of apprentices and junior surveyors.
- Experience within housing repairs, maintenance, or building surveying.
- Knowledge of NEC3 term service contracts desirable.
- Strong technical surveying and diagnostic skills across a range of property types.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- A proactive, team-focused approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits.
