A client within the Public Sector based in Lancashire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Building Surveying Team as soon as possible.
The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority or public sector property environment.

The Role
The key purpose of the role is to manage and deliver a range of building-related projects across the authority, providing professional building surveying, design, and project management services to ensure all works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Designing and specifying building refurbishments including extensions, roofing, window replacements, fencing, flooring, and general refurbishments in accordance with current regulations and standards.
• Leading on the project management and delivery of medium-sized building projects for internal and external clients.
• Supporting the Programme Manager and Principal Surveyors in the effective delivery of capital projects and condition-led schemes.
• Managing project risks, budgets, and progress reporting through the council’s project management systems.
• Providing specialist technical advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborating proactively with multidisciplinary teams across the design and construction service.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require:
• A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in building design and delivery, including the use of AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, Planning requirements, and professional building standards.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Experience in the public sector or within an operational/school environment.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to mentor or support others.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £23 per hour PAYE).
