A client within the Public Sector based in Hampshire is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join their Property Services Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, permenant position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority in a property surveying / building maintenance environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide property surveying services across the Homecare directorate, supporting the wider organisation by identifying maintenance issues, producing solutions, and project-managing both minor and major works.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Inspecting and assessing repair requests and property defects, providing clear technical solutions.
• Investigating building defects and disrepair cases, producing accurate Housing Conditions reports.
• Providing technical support to operational teams, contractors, and consultants to guide maintenance decisions.
• Preparing and approving schedules of work, including obtaining quotations for repairs and specialist works.
• Supporting planned maintenance programmes through property inspections and component assessments.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• A relevant degree, HND/HNC in Building Surveying or a construction-related qualification.
• Experience in building maintenance or building surveying.
• A full driving licence and access to transport (or ability to travel efficiently).
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Membership of RICS (advantageous).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and demonstrate commercial awareness.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office and maintenance-management software.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £46,200 per annum.
