Business Administrator – Children’s Services ? Cheshire East area

We’re working with Cheshire East Council to recruit a Business Administrator to provide high-quality administrative support across Children’s Services, with a particular focus on Children’s Partnership Boards and multi-agency working.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator who thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment and enjoys working with senior stakeholders to support service improvement and partnership delivery.

? The Role As a Business Administrator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective coordination of meetings, boards, events and administrative systems that support children’s services across the borough.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating agendas, papers, reports, venues, attendance, minutes and follow-up actions for multi-agency and senior management boards and sub-groups

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Children’s Partnership Boards, service leads and wider team

  • Liaising directly with senior managers and partner agencies

  • Organising events including board meetings, conferences, development days and multi-agency workshops

  • Managing administrative systems, correspondence, inboxes, phone calls and filing

  • Supporting service development and partnership working to help improve outcomes for children and families

  • Handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion

? About You You’ll be an organised, proactive administrator who can confidently manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across services.

Essential criteria include:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this

  • Strong administrative experience, ideally including minute-taking and meeting coordination

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work calmly to deadlines while maintaining accuracy

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and accurate minute-taking ability

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally

  • A friendly, adaptable and resilient approach to work

Desirable experience:

  • Experience in a local government or public sector environment

  • Knowledge of Children’s Services, safeguarding and SEND

  • Understanding of data protection, confidentiality and basic financial processing
