Business Administrator – Children’s Services ? Cheshire East area
We’re working with Cheshire East Council to recruit a Business Administrator to provide high-quality administrative support across Children’s Services, with a particular focus on Children’s Partnership Boards and multi-agency working.

? The Role As a Business Administrator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and effective coordination of meetings, boards, events and administrative systems that support children’s services across the borough.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating agendas, papers, reports, venues, attendance, minutes and follow-up actions for multi-agency and senior management boards and sub-groups
- Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Children’s Partnership Boards, service leads and wider team
- Liaising directly with senior managers and partner agencies
- Organising events including board meetings, conferences, development days and multi-agency workshops
- Managing administrative systems, correspondence, inboxes, phone calls and filing
- Supporting service development and partnership working to help improve outcomes for children and families
- Handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Essential criteria include:
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this
- Strong administrative experience, ideally including minute-taking and meeting coordination
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work calmly to deadlines while maintaining accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accurate minute-taking ability
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally
- A friendly, adaptable and resilient approach to work
- Experience in a local government or public sector environment
- Knowledge of Children’s Services, safeguarding and SEND
- Understanding of data protection, confidentiality and basic financial processing
- Willingness to travel across the Cheshire East borough as required
- Flexible approach to work
