This is a key role providing business support activities to help ensure our service meets statutory obligations and delivers timely, effective support to children, young people, families, and carers.

Are you looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families? We are seeking a Business Support Officer to join our Children’s Social Care and Safeguarding Services team. This is a key role providing business support activities to help ensure our service meets statutory obligations and delivers timely, effective support to children, young people, families, and carers.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as the first point of contact for service users, staff, and partner organisations, providing advice and guidance.
- Progressing tasks and projects delegated by your Manager to contribute to service effectiveness.
- Collating, preparing, and presenting performance data and supporting service audits.
- Undertaking administrative duties including drafting documents, minute-taking, preparing presentations, handling enquiries, and organising meetings.
- Supporting service initiatives through investigation, research, and information collation.
- Significant experience in children’s social care or a similar environment.
- Proven experience coordinating activities and working with others to achieve outcomes.
- Strong computing skills, particularly with MS Office, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of children’s safeguarding issues and ability to apply this knowledge effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Flexible, resilient, and able to work under pressure.
- Experience leading projects and managing budgets.
- ECDL or other IT qualification.
