We are currently looking for 4 experienced Carpenter Locksmiths to join a Communal Repairs Team, working across a variety of properties. This role focuses on external repairs and door maintenance. - Carry out high-quality carpentry and locksmithing repairs on external doors and communal areas.
- Diagnose faults and provide recommendations for remedial action.
- Work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
- Deliver a broad range of multi-trade activities including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, glazing, and decorating.
- Provide excellent customer service and liaise professionally with tenants and clients.
- Use mobile technology to manage job orders and input data into asset management systems.
- Comply with all Health & Safety legislation, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Maintain and manage a company-provided vehicle, tools, and materials.
- Support, mentor, and provide guidance to apprentices or less experienced team members.
- Respond to emergencies and out-of-hours callouts when required.
- Ensure PPE is worn and maintained, and work is conducted in line with safety protocols.
We're seeking candidates who:
- Have proven experience in both carpentry and locksmithing.
- Are confident working in occupied and unoccupied buildings.
- Can self-manage workloads and work with minimal supervision.
- Are comfortable using digital tools and mobile technology.
- Are committed to high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Understand the importance of compliance with safety regulations.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence (essential, for vehicle use).

- Reporting To: Service Manager
- Training: Participation in ongoing CPD and mandatory training is required.
- Flexibility: Must be willing to work across different locations and participate in out-of-hours service rotas.
- Equipment: Responsible for vehicle, tools, and material stock.
- Work Environment: Includes occupied tenancies, void properties, and office buildings.
- Probationary Period: 26 weeks
- Grade/Salary Range: Craft Operative+ – Salary from £37,221 to £52,521 depending on experience
- Conditions of Service: Governed by the National Joint Council (NJC) for Local Authorities Services
- PPE: Full use of provided Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory
- Job Share: This position is open to job sharing arrangements
