Fire Door Carpenter
Location: Great Western Hospital, Swindon
Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour PAYE | £23.07 per hour Umbrella (Inc Holiday)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30
Contract: Temporary

About the Role
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Door Carpenter to work at Locations within Swindon. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspections of fire-rated doors and associated building fabric, ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repairs to building fabric and equipment across the hospital.
• Repair and maintain fire-rated doors in accordance with fire safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure fire doors meet required standards, including fire ratings, smoke sealing and door clearances.
• Install and maintain fire door hardware, including locks, hinges, closers and associated components.
• Complete fire door inspections and maintenance as required.
• Work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Liaise professionally with Estates Supervisors, management and hospital staff.
• Ensure all work is completed to a safe and professional standard.

Essential Requirements

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent.
• Recognised apprenticeship or relevant structured training programme.
• Experience in fire door inspection, repair and maintenance.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider Estates team.

Desirable

• BM TRADA fire door training or relevant certification.
• Previous experience working within a healthcare or hospital environment.
