Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a well-established Local Authority in Cheshire who are seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join their Legal Services team on a locum contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced childcare lawyer to join a supportive legal team, managing a varied caseload of public childcare matters. The successful candidate will ideally have experience dealing with asylum-seeking children, age assessments, and associated public law matters.
Location: Cheshire / Remote Working
Contract: 3 Months Ongoing
Rate: £50.00 - £60.00 per hour Umbrella
PAYE (Inclusive of Holiday Pay): £44.06 - £52.95 per hour
The authority offers fully remote working, providing excellent flexibility throughout the assignment.

Responsibilities as a Childcare Solicitor:
- Manage a caseload of public childcare matters, including care proceedings and related applications.
- Provide legal advice to Children's Services, social workers, and senior officers on childcare legislation and safeguarding issues.
- Advise on legal issues relating to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) and age assessment cases.
- Draft and review legal documentation, including court applications, witness statements, and legal advice.
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX with a current practising certificate.
- Previous experience managing a Local Authority childcare caseload.
- Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and associated public law proceedings.
- Fully remote working.
- Flexible working arrangements.
- Weekly payroll.
