Childcare Solicitor

Service Care Solutions are currently working alongside a well-established Local Authority in Cheshire who are seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join their Legal Services team on a locum contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced childcare lawyer to join a supportive legal team, managing a varied caseload of public childcare matters.

Location: Cheshire / Hybrid Working
Contract: 3 Months Ongoing
Rate: £60.00 - £65.00 per hour Umbrella
PAYE (Inclusive of Holiday Pay): £53.28 - £57.68  per hour

The authority offers hybrid working, providing excellent flexibility throughout the assignment.

Responsibilities as a Childcare Solicitor:

• Manage a caseload of public childcare matters, including care proceedings and related applications.
• Provide legal advice to Children's Services, social workers, and senior officers on childcare legislation and safeguarding issues.
• Draft and review legal documentation, including court applications, witness statements, and legal advice.
• Attend court proceedings when needs be.

About you as a Childcare solicitor:

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX with a current practising certificate.
• Previous experience managing a Local Authority childcare caseload.
• Strong knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and associated public law proceedings.
