Childcare Solicitor

Service Care Solutions is working with a dynamic local authority, based in Somerset, which is seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join them on a fully remote basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced local authority childcare lawyer looking for long-term remote work within a supportive and well-established team.
 
Role: Childcare Solicitor
Location: Somerset - Fully Remote
Umbrella Rate: £55 to £60ph
PAYE Inc. Rate: £48.03 to £52.38ph
Contract Length: 3 months ongoing 
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a caseload of public law childcare matters, including care proceedings, PLO work, and drafting legal documentation on behalf of the local authority.
• Advising social workers, managers, and internal stakeholders on childcare law, safeguarding, and statutory responsibilities.
• Representing the local authority at remote hearings and working collaboratively with courts, barristers, and multi-agency professionals.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ PQE as solicitor in England and Wales.
• Strong local authority experience within a childcare legal team is essential.
• The council is specifically looking for candidates with stable career history and solid local authority backgrounds.
