? Children’s Care Broker – Join Our Team! We’re looking for a Children’s Care Broker to join a busy, supportive brokerage team in the Social Care, Health Integration & Wellbeing directorate.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people by helping secure the right placements and support at the right time.

What you’ll do

• Work closely with social workers, providers, children, and families to understand assessed needs.
  
  
• Source, negotiate, and secure high-quality placements and care packages – focusing on best value and positive outcomes.
  
  
• Keep accurate records and ensure placement agreements and finance systems are up to date.
  
  
• Build strong relationships with providers and internal teams, supporting the development of a responsive, person-centred brokerage service.
  
  
• Analyse information and challenge where appropriate to ensure children receive the most suitable and cost-effective support.
  
  

About you We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a good knowledge of children’s social care services and an understanding of commissioning/contracting approaches.
  
  
• Can analyse information, think creatively, and work calmly under pressure.
  
  
• Is confident negotiating with providers and having constructive conversations with professionals and families.
  
  
• Has excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  
  
• Works well independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and positive approach.
  
  

A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) and an understanding of the care market for children are desirable.

Additional information

• Full-time, permanent role (37 hours per week, Monday–Friday).
  
  
• DBS check required.
  
  
• Flexible working may be available.
