Job Title: Children’s Contact Worker

About the Role As a Children’s Contact Worker, you will:
- Safely transport children and young people from their placement to contact venues and return them afterwards.
- Supervise contact sessions between children and their parents, carers, or others as set out in care plans.
- Provide clear written reports on contact sessions using agreed templates.
- Recognise and report safeguarding concerns to senior staff and allocated social workers.
- Maintain contact rooms to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
- Use IT systems as required and participate in ongoing training.
- Work flexibly, including outside of core hours, to meet service needs.
- Substantial experience of working directly with children under 10 (paid, voluntary, or personal).
- The ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, foster carers, and professionals.
- Strong written skills to produce accurate reports.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- The ability to work independently and flexibly, covering contacts across Birmingham.
- A full driving licence and sole use of a car for work purposes.
