Children's Social Worker - Front Door / Assessment
Powys County Council
Rate: £29.22 per hour PAYE / £38.28 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Initial 3-Month Assignment
Start Date: Immediate Start Preferred
Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Children's Social Worker to join the Front Door / Assessment Team at Powys County Council.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker, ideally with Front Door experience, although candidates without direct Front Door experience will be considered if they can demonstrate the relevant skills, knowledge and experience required for the role.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and make a positive impact on the lives of children and families through effective assessment, safeguarding and intervention.

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake assessments of children and families.
- Manage a caseload of complex child and family cases.
- Make informed decisions in relation to safeguarding and child protection concerns.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children and young people.
- Complete assessments and reports in line with statutory requirements and timescales.
- Contribute to effective care planning and risk management.
- Qualified Social Worker.
- Registered with Social Care Wales.
- Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Services.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills.
- Experience managing complex caseloads.
- Excellent communication and partnership-working abilities.
- Ability to start without delay and commit to the initial three-month assignment.
- Previous Front Door or Assessment Team experience.
- Child Protection and safeguarding experience.
