Title: Children’s Social Worker – Fostering Team Knowsley Borough Council
Contract: £39.15 per hour (UMB) £29.77 PAYE| 36 hours per week | 3-month initial contract
Working style: Hybrid working – 3 days office / 2 days home
We are working on behalf of Knowsley Borough Council an an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join the Fostering Service.
The Role
This position sits within the Fostering Team and will focus primarily on undertaking a range of fostering assessments. The successful candidate will be confident managing assessment work autonomously and producing high-quality, analytical reports.

The Role

- Completing Connected Carer Assessments (Form K)
- Undertaking Mainstream Fostering Assessments (Form F)
- Carrying out Viability Assessments
- Completing Regulation 24 Assessments
- Conducting Initial Visits
- Preparing detailed, evidence-based assessment reports for panel
- Minimum 3 years post-qualifying permanent experience within Children’s Services in a Local Authority
- Significant experience within a Fostering Service
- Strong assessment and report writing skills
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
- SWE registration
- Competitive rate of £39.15 per hour (UMB)
- 36-hour working week
- Initial 3-month contract
- Hybrid working model (3 days office-based, 2 days remote)
