Social Worker / Experienced Social Worker - Children & Family Social Work Team (CSWT)
Location: Medway
Salary: £43,425 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Employer: Medway Council Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Social Worker / Experienced Social Worker to join the Children & Family Social Work Team (CSWT) in Medway on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team committed to delivering high-quality services to children, young people, and families through relationship and strengths-based practice. The team works proactively with families who require statutory intervention, using the Signs of Safety practice model to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention.
• Complete focused and analytical assessments, reviews, and SMART plans with clear objectives and measurable outcomes.
• Implement Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, working towards safely stepping cases down where appropriate.
• Escalate cases to legal proceedings when necessary to safeguard children and young people.
• Build effective relationships with children and families using a strengths-based approach.
• Work directly with children and young people to understand their lived experiences, wishes, and feelings.
• Consistently apply the Signs of Safety practice model within assessments and interventions.
• Ensure all practice aligns with the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) and Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) for Child and Family Practitioners.
• Participate in reflective supervision and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and development.

Requirements

• Social Work England registration.
• Experience working within Children's Social Care.
• Understanding of Child in Need, Child Protection, and court processes.
• Experience of relationship-based and strengths-based practice.
• Experience using Signs of Safety or a willingness to undertake training.
• Ability to work collaboratively with children, young people, and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
• Strong assessment, planning, and report-writing skills.
