Service Care Solutions is recruiting an experienced Unpaid Work Supervisor (Community Payback Supervisor) to join a busy probation team in Southampton on an initial 6-month contract.
This is a hands-on operational role supervising offenders completing Unpaid Work requirements as part of their community sentence — helping deliver reparative work that benefits the local community while supporting rehabilitation.

Work directly within the Probation Service on a nationally recognised contract, playing a key role in community rehabilitation and public protection.

Service Care Solutions is recruiting an experienced Unpaid Work Supervisor (Community Payback Supervisor) to join a busy probation team in Southampton on an initial 6-month contract.
This is a hands-on operational role supervising offenders completing Unpaid Work requirements as part of their community sentence — helping deliver reparative work that benefits the local community while supporting rehabilitation.
The Role:
- Supervise groups of service users undertaking Unpaid Work placements safely and effectively
- Deliver structured, purposeful work programmes in line with National Standards
- Complete accurate attendance, behaviour, and progress records
- Enforce breach procedures where non-compliance occurs
- Promote a safe, disciplined, and rehabilitative working environment
- Liaise with Probation Practitioners on individual case management
- Location: Southampton
- Contract Length: 6 months
- Hours: 37 hours/week across 4 days (9.25 hours/day)
- Working Pattern: Fully site-based — no flexible or remote working available
- Previous experience supervising Unpaid Work / Community Payback placements (essential)
- Confident managing groups in outdoor/practical work settings
- Strong understanding of risk management, safeguarding, and enforcement processes
- Full UK driving licence (own vehicle often required for tool/equipment transport)
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo one)
