A client within the Public Sector based in Worcestershire is currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager (Fire Lead) to join their Contracts & Compliance Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority or property compliance environment.
The Role
The key purpose of the role is to lead and manage a comprehensive programme of fire safety compliance across Worcestershire County Council’s corporate and maintained school portfolio, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Acting as the qualified and competent person for all matters of fire compliance across the corporate and school estate.
• Managing the delivery and review of fire risk assessments, inspections, and remedial works in a timely and risk-based manner.
• Monitoring and reporting on contractor performance against KPIs and compliance standards.
• Supporting and advising school staff on both fire and wider statutory compliance responsibilities.
• Coordinating with project and construction teams to ensure fire compliance throughout project lifecycles.
• Providing specialist advice, training, and reports to senior management and stakeholders.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• A Level 6 qualification (or equivalent compensatory experience).
• A current Diploma in Fire Safety or comparable, industry-recognised qualification.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and associated compliance legislation.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale fire safety or property compliance contracts across diverse estates.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and contractor management skills.
• Experience within a local government or public sector property environment (desirable).
• IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety accreditation (desirable).
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £28 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £23 per hour PAYE).
