Contact Supervision Worker – Birmingham Children’s Trust

Are you passionate about supporting children and families? Birmingham Children’s Trust is looking for an experienced Contact Supervision Worker to join their team on a short-term basis.
About the Role You will play a vital role in supporting children and their families by:
- Supervising and facilitating contact sessions between children and their parents/carers.
- Promoting safe, positive, and meaningful interactions.
- Ensuring contact is in line with safeguarding plans and care plans.
- Observing, recording, and reporting on the quality of contact sessions.
- Working closely with social workers, family support teams, and other professionals to promote children’s welfare.
- Maintaining accurate written records and providing clear feedback to inform assessments.
About You We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a similar role, such as contact supervision, family support, or children’s residential/early help settings.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child development.
- Excellent observation, communication, and report-writing skills.
- The ability to remain calm, professional, and empathetic in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work across weekdays and potentially some evenings or weekends to meet service needs.
- Be part of a service focused on improving outcomes for children and families.
- Work within a collaborative team environment.
- Gain valuable experience with one of the largest children’s trusts in the UK.
