Are you calm, reliable, and passionate about supporting children and families during important moments? Birmingham Children’s Trust is looking for dedicated Contact Workers to support supervised contact visits between children in care and their families.
This is a hugely rewarding role where your presence, professionalism, and ability to build trust will make a real difference to children’s emotional wellbeing.
About the Role As a Contact Worker, you will facilitate and supervise contact sessions between children in care and their parents or family members, ensuring visits are safe, positive, and child-focused.
You’ll act as a neutral, supportive presence — observing interactions, promoting positive engagement, and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise contact visits between children in care and their families
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and emotional needs of children are always prioritised
- Support positive and appropriate interactions during contact sessions
- Accurately record observations and write clear contact notes/reports
- Transport children to and from contact venues when required
- Work closely with Social Workers and other professionals
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times
- A genuine interest in supporting children and families
- Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient approach
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Ability to remain neutral and professional in sensitive situations
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
