Location: Lincoln
Client: Lincolnshire County Council
Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: Full time (37 hours per week) – Monday to Friday 08:00–18:00, excluding Bank Holidays.
Salary: £12.22 PAYE - (£15.66 Umbrella)
Additional Availability: Must be available to work Monday–Friday over the festive period (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year’s Day)
About the Role
The Customer Service Centre is the first point of contact for many of Lincolnshire County Council’s services, including Adult Care, Children’s Services, Highways, Registration & Celebratory Services, and Library Services. The centre delivers a diverse range of services that play an important role in residents’ lives, from carrying out social care assessments to renewing library books.
As a Customer Service Associate, you will be the first point of contact for District Council services (e.g., Council Housing repairs) and other local services including Libraries and Heritage enquiries. You will gather and process information efficiently and accurately while working in a fast-paced environment with plenty of variety and opportunities to learn new things.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service as the first point of contact for council and local services.
  • Gather, process, and record information accurately and efficiently.
  • Respond to enquiries regarding Adult Care, Children’s Services, Highways, Registration & Celebratory Services, Library Services, and other local services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve enquiries and provide support to residents.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
Experience & Knowledge
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, ideally in a public sector or local government environment.
  • Understanding of basic council services and processes is desirable but not essential.
Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with varied tasks.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing information.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new systems and processes.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be available to work Monday–Friday, including over the festive period (excluding Bank Holidays).
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
  • Ability to work flexibly to support service demands as required.
