Location: Wolvercote , Oxford, OX2 8AB
Hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, term time only
Contract: 5 January 2026 to 12 July 2026
Pay: £130 to £140 per day
About the Role
Wolvercote Nursery is looking for a Level 3 qualified Early Years professional to step into the position of Deputy Nursery Manager. You will support the day to day running of the setting, uphold safeguarding standards, and help deliver high quality childcare for children across an all ability environment.
Key Responsibilities
Nursery Practice:
• Plan and deliver age appropriate activities
• Support children through play, learning and daily routines
• Provide consistent pastoral care
Safeguarding:
• Follow all safeguarding procedures
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting
Key Worker Duties:
• Lead on observations and learning journeys
• Track developmental progress
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers
Team Support:
• Work collaboratively with staff and maintain ratios
• Assist the Nursery Manager with planning and daily operations
Deputy Responsibilities:
• Support administrative tasks, data collection and assessments
• Help maintain quality and compliance across the setting
Requirements
• Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
• Minimum one year experience in a nursery or early years setting
• Confident in safeguarding and child development
• Strong team player with leadership potential
• SEND specialism not essential (all ability school)
