Location: Preferably Ashburton (also available at Exeter Police Station and Crownhill, Plymouth)
Rate: £19.50 per hour 
Clearance: SC Vetting required
Contract Type: 3 month minimum contract with likely extension

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Disclosure / Exhibits Officer to support major crime investigations within the Serious and Organised Crime Unit. This is a critical role providing professional support to Senior Investigating Officers (SIOs) and Major Incident Room Supervisors.

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing disclosure material in line with the Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act (CPIA 1996).

  • Using HOLMES to assess, edit and prepare material for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

  • Handling sensitive material and ensuring proper disclosure processes are followed.

  • Recording, securing, and maintaining evidential integrity of exhibits.

  • Preparing exhibits for court and ensuring they are presented appropriately.

  • Liaising with SIOs, CPS Counsel and senior officers to brief on disclosure issues.

What we’re looking for
  • Experience in major crime investigations and strong knowledge of the investigative process.

  • Proven experience working with HOLMES.

  • Knowledge of CPIA 1996, RIPA 2000, NIM, Disclosure Protocol 2006, and Attorney General’s Guidelines 2024.

  • Attention to detail, methodical approach, and strong organisational skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

  • Competence with Microsoft Office products.

Desirable: PIP2 qualified (PIP1 may be considered).
