Job Title: Duty Social Worker – Integrated Learning Disabilities
Location: Hackney, London
Contract: Full-Time, 36 hours per week, 3 Months initially, potential to be extended
Rate: £32 per hour (Umbrella) £28 PAYE

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Duty Social Worker to join the Integrated Learning Disabilities Team on behalf of Hackney Council. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated social worker to make a meaningful difference supporting adults with learning disabilities and their families within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing duty responsibilities, responding to new referrals, undertaking assessments, and coordinating appropriate support to promote independence, wellbeing, and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage incoming referrals and enquiries as part of the duty function within the Integrated Learning Disabilities Team
• Undertake strengths-based assessments in line with the Care Act 2014
• Develop and review person-centred care and support plans
• Work collaboratively with health professionals, carers, and partner agencies
• Undertake safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments where required
• Provide advice, guidance, and signposting to individuals, families, and professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in accordance with statutory requirements

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Experience working with adults with learning disabilities
• Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, safeguarding, and mental capacity legislation
• Ability to manage a fast-paced duty environment and prioritise workload effectively
• Excellent communication and partnership-working skills
