Early Help Worker – EHASH Multiple Opportunities Available | Rochdale Make a real difference at the front door of Children’s Services.

We are currently recruiting for multiple Early Help Worker opportunities to join the EHASH (Early Help and Safeguarding Hub) team in Rochdale.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a multi-agency team working at the front door for children, young people and families across Rochdale. EHASH brings together professionals including Social Workers, Early Help Workers, Referral Information Coordinators, managers and wider multi-agency partners to ensure families receive the right response, at the right time.

The role is initially to cover sickness, but with multiple positions available, we are keen to hear from experienced Early Help, Family Support, Children’s Services and safeguarding professionals who are ready to make an immediate impact.

What will you be doing? As an Early Help Worker within EHASH, you will play a key role in triaging referrals, gathering information and identifying the appropriate response for children and families.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Completing triage, screening and information-gathering within required timescales.
• Contacting parents, carers, children, young people and professionals to obtain key information.
• Completing home visits where required.
• Identifying emerging safeguarding concerns and ensuring appropriate referrals are made to Children’s Social Care or Early Help services.
• Providing advice, information and signposting around the support available to children and families.
• Supporting Early Help Assessments and risk assessments.
• Working alongside Social Workers, Early Help colleagues and multi-agency partners to build a clear picture of family needs.
• Following up cases and ensuring agreed actions are implemented effectively.
• Supporting families with outcome-focused interventions and support packages.
• Liaising with a wide range of agencies and professionals to ensure effective service provision.
• Maintaining accurate, clear and auditable case records.
• Using relevant case management and IT systems to record assessments, actions, decisions and outcomes.
• Ensuring safeguarding procedures, policies and relevant legislation are followed appropriately and within required timescales.

The role requires someone who can gather information, understand risk, analyse concerns and make clear recommendations about the most appropriate response for children and families.

What are we looking for? We are keen to speak with professionals who have experience of working with vulnerable children, young people and families, particularly those with complex needs.

You should have:

• Experience supporting children, young people and families.
• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of Early Help and family-based assessment processes.
• Experience gathering and analysing sensitive information.
• The ability to identify concerns and understand when escalation or safeguarding action may be required.
• Strong communication, engagement, negotiation and information-sharing skills.
• Experience contributing to or developing support packages and action plans.
• Strong written skills and the ability to maintain accurate case records.
• Confidence using IT systems and case management databases.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and the services available to support vulnerable families.
• A Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant subject, or willingness to undertake relevant training.

Most importantly, you will need to be confident working with families, professionals and partner agencies and be able to build a clear understanding of a family's circumstances in order to help determine the appropriate next steps.
