Location: Hackney, London
Contract: 3 months initially
Hours: 36 hours per week
Rate: £25 per hour (Umbrella) (£19.12 PAYE an hour)
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Teacher to join the Early Years & Play team. This is a pivotal role supporting high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5, helping them achieve the best possible start in life.
You will work in partnership with parents and early years practitioners to support curriculum development, monitor practice, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment within a Children’s Centre setting.
Key Responsibilities
This role requires flexibility, including occasional work outside normal hours and participation in supervision and appraisal processes. You’ll play a key role in supporting families and strengthening early years provision across the community.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support delivery of the Early Years curriculum in line with the EYFS Framework
- Work alongside the Head of Centre and staff to monitor and improve learning experiences
- Provide guidance, modelling best practice and supporting staff development
- Promote inclusion and ensure accessibility for children with additional needs
- Build strong partnerships with parents/carers through regular communication and reviews
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children in line with statutory responsibilities
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Post-qualification experience teaching children aged 3–5
- Strong knowledge of early child development (birth to five)
- Understanding of SEN/SEND and inclusive practice
- Excellent literacy, numeracy, and written communication skills
- Ability to support positive behaviour and create nurturing learning environments
