Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Team Leader to join our clients Corporate Repairs Team in Sheffield on a full-time temporary basis.
Based at Manor Lane Depot, the successful candidate will lead and support a team of electricians and multi-skilled operatives delivering responsive repairs, planned maintenance and minor capital works across the clients corporate property portfolio.
The role offers the opportunity to oversee electrical works across a wide range of important buildings, including the Town Hall, libraries, depots, crematoriums, the Medico Legal Centre and major office accommodations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and support a team of electricians and multi-skilled operatives.
- Plan, coordinate and allocate responsive repairs, planned maintenance and minor electrical projects.
- Organise and deploy operational staff to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
- Manage resources, materials, plant, transport and subcontractors as required.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the electrical team.
- Act as the Council's NICEIC Qualified Supervisor (QS).
- Provide technical oversight of electrical installations, inspection and testing activities.
- Ensure electrical works comply with BS 7671 and NICEIC Approved Contractor Scheme requirements.
- Monitor standards of electrical safety, workmanship and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, CDM requirements, electrical regulations and Council policies.
- Use ICT systems to manage workloads, monitor performance and support effective service delivery.
- Manage and prioritise workloads to meet operational requirements and service objectives.
- Promote excellent customer service and professional standards across the team.
- Support continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve the delivery of the service.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and other teams across the Council's property estate.
- Travel across the Council's corporate estate as required.
- Relevant electrical qualification to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing qualification or equivalent.
- Substantial experience working within electrical maintenance.
- Previous experience supervising, leading or coordinating an electrical team.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety, BS 7671, health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
- Good understanding of CDM regulations and safe systems of work.
- Experience of inspection, testing and overseeing electrical installations.
- Experience working within a maintenance, repairs or facilities management environment.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate and support a team while maintaining high standards of performance.
- Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering a professional service.
- Ability to use IT systems to manage workloads, records and performance.
- Willingness to work flexibly and travel across the Council's estate when required.
