Purpose of the Role
To undertake safe and effective electrical works—including repairs, installations, servicing, and inspection & testing—across our clients housing stock. The role ensures properties are maintained to a high standard and in a timely manner, with a strong focus on achieving and maintaining exceptional levels of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out safe electrical work within designated timeframes, adhering to priority schedules and striving for first-time fixes while remaining compliant.
  • Identify and repair electrical faults, including full domestic rewiring, in line with Abri standards.
  • Liaise professionally with customers and colleagues to communicate job progress; escalate complex cases to senior staff as required.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety legislation, company policies, and BS7671 standards, including appropriate use of PPE and equipment.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to plan job requirements and requisition necessary materials.
  • Support the Planned Works team with full electrical installations for bathrooms, kitchens, and complete property rewires.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota to respond to urgent electrical issues.
  • Maintain company vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition; carry out regular safety checks and report defects promptly.
  • Assist in the development and support of apprentices and trainees where required.
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the role.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Qualified Electrician with Achievement Measurement 2.
  • City & Guilds certifications in:
    • 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
    • 2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2351, or 2330 Levels 2 and 3
    • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation Work or equivalent.
  • Practical knowledge of current BS7671 regulations and experience in inspection, testing, and commissioning.
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training with adequate hands-on experience.
  • Full UK driving licence with ability to travel efficiently to customer locations (some of which may not be accessible by public transport).
  • Good IT proficiency and excellent customer service skills.
Desirable
  • City & Guilds 2394 or 2395 in initial verification, certification, and periodic inspection/testing.
Additional Information
  • This role is subject to a Basic DBS Check.
  • Company vehicle, tools, PPE, and support will be provided.
