About the Role:
As an Electro Mechanical Production Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes by collaborating with design, development, R&D, and production teams. You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth product transitions from concept to high-volume production, optimising quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities of the Electro Mechanical Production Engineer include:
- Collaborate with Design/Development teams to identify and implement process and product improvements
- Coordinate with R&D and production teams to facilitate seamless product transitions
- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime and maintain high product quality
- Create specifications and concepts for production equipment and liaise with equipment manufacturers
- Develop assembly control plans, work instructions, SOPs, and other technical documentation
- Identify automation opportunities to enhance manufacturing efficiency
- Manage End of Line Test data for existing and new products, analysing trends for preventative actions
- Support the integration of new technologies into manufacturing processes
- Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, HND via apprenticeship, or relevant experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing
- Experience with high-volume manufacture of electro-mechanical assemblies
- Knowledge of problem-solving techniques such as 5Why, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis
- Proficiency with PLM and CAD software (preferably Siemens NX/Team Centre)
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies like Kaizen and lean manufacturing
- Knowledge of sensor electronics, physics, and automation in assembly processes
- Analytical, collaborative, creative, and practical approach to problem-solving
