Employment Lawyer

Service Care Legal are recruiting for an Employment Lawyer to join a local authority in the South London region. As an Employment and Education Lawyer, you will provide high-quality legal advice and representation to our throughout the council on employment and education-related matters.

ROLE: Employment Lawyer
LOCATION: Fully remote / South London
CONTRACT: 3 months with possibility of extension, 35 hours per week
RATE: £50ph LTD (£44.51ph PAYE inc. holiday pay, £39.72ph PAYE exc. holiday pay)

Please note that this role can be done fully remote.

The Role

• Provide high-quality legal advice and representation on employment and education-related matters
• Advise on changes in legislation and case law that may impact our organization
• Represent our organization in courts, tribunals, and inquiries
• Liaise with professional bodies, research institutions, and external organizations
• Maintain effective relationships with client departments and senior officers

Role Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX
• Relevant experience working in employment and education law, preferably in local government
• Significant specialism in depth knowledge in employment and education law
• Experience of conducting complex cases with minimal supervision
• Experience of supervising and managing junior staff
